Meet the Team

Denise Tosdevine - Manager -

I have been working at Badger Farm Pre school since 1997 and Manager from 1998. Before that I had been involved with the group as a committee member and volunteer helper since 1992, when my own children were here. I thoroughly enjoy working with children and take great pride in our group as a valued part of the community. Outside of the playgroup you can find me out walking, particularly in the hills and mountains and I enjoy gardening, reading and looking after my grandchildren in my spare time.

Anne Young - Deputy Manager -

I have been working at Badger Farm Pre-school for over 25 years and I find it very rewarding. It’s lovely to see all the children learn, achieve and develop in our care. The parents of the children we are now seeing attended themselves many years ago! Outside the playgroup I have a husband and 3 boys and enjoy meeting friends, going to the cinema and being outside.

Debbie Peacock - Assistant -

I have been working at Badger Farm Playgroup for over 15 years and before that I was part of the Badger Farm family as a parent and committee member. I love the community feel, seeing several members of a family or social group come through. I particularly enjoy helping those in need of additional support with their language skills. Outside the playgroup I am married and have three children, enjoy running and trips away in our motorhome .

Phoebe Sheldrake - Assistant -

I have been a team member at Badger Farm Preschool since 2024 full time. I started as a volunteer in 2022 as part of my college course and I am now going into my last year at university studying Education and Early Years alongside working at the preschool. Outside of the playgroup I enjoy spending time with my family and going on days out. I have always had a passion for working with children and helping them grow and develop, from my own family, preschool and babysitting.

Theresa Penson - Assistant -

I moved to Oliver's Battery in 1988 when my eldest son was 4, he attended Badger Farm Pre-school for a term and then went to school. I started volunteering once he was at school and then became a staff member. I took 3 years off when I had my 3rd child and returned in 2004 and have been here ever since! Outside the play group I enjoy spending time with my family, doing various craft activities, baking, reading and gardening.
